To culminate yesterday's Faculty In-Service Day, teachers were given the task of thinking of a problem that the community faces, no matter how small, and coming up with a solution. Through collaboration and critical thinking, teachers designed products that would solve their real-world problem. After exploring the campus for supplies, teachers engineered and created their products, which they then communicated through whole-group presentations.
Our teachers got to experience first-hand the concepts behind STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) and 21st century learning skills (collaboration, critical thinking, creation, communication).
We are excited to continue watching our students using these skills and experiencing STEAM throughout the year as well!
