Akiba Academy of Dallas seeks an innovative, energetic and strategic Director of Learning Services to oversee students’ individualized learning and to design and build a strategic educational plan for student support. Applicants interested in this role must have extensive experience in teaching children with learning differences and a proven track record of partnership with students, teachers and parents. Applicants must exhibit superior organizational skills and be passionate about education.
In this role, the Director of Learning Services has the opportunity to expand on our 55+ years of excellence and commitment to educating a diverse population of children in Dallas. The areas of responsibilities include: professional development and supervision; administrative and fiscal oversight; and educational strategizing, planning and oversight. The Director of Learning Services is responsible for maintaining a dynamic web of communication among students with learning differences, parents, tutors and the teaching staff, and for taking an active role in the identification and remediation of individual student learning issues in order to help promote and support academic achievement. The Director of Learning Services maintains coherence and continuity of our overall program and responds to issues relevant to the academic, social and emotional well-being of students.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 5-7 years’ experience in administration and teaching children with learning differences.
• A Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated ability to envision, identify, develop, and implement academic programs.
• Strong counseling/advising skills and professionalism with a student service focus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• Extremely organized, with demonstrated good judgment and outstanding communication skills.
• Excellent writing skills and speaking, creative programming skills, and ability to assess results and impact.
