Akiba Academy of Dallas, a Modern Orthodox Jewish day school in Dallas, seeks an accomplished Hebrew and Judaic Studies Teacher who is enthusiastic, creative, warm, open-minded, and passionate and knowledgeable about Jewish studies and Hebrew with multiple approaches to teaching. Ideal candidates understand child development and holistic education, are grounded in Jewish values and have 21st Century skills. The candidate must be approachable, able to engage with students, faculty and parents and work independently and collaboratively.
Akiba Academy of Dallas, located in Dallas, TX serves close to 400 students in grades PreK-8. We offer an engaging, integrated and rigorous dual curriculum that includes a strong foundation in core academic disciplines: English (with an emphasis on writing, reading and public speaking), mathematics, science, social studies in addition to Hebrew, and Judaic studies.
In addition, art, athletics, drama, music, technology, service learning, and outdoor education are important components to enhance the development of our students’ hearts, minds and souls. Strengthening social and emotional skills are an important part of our program as well and are critical in our positive school culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
 Working in partnership with the Head of School and Principal in planning and teaching a challenging course of Judaic and Hebrew study in a developmentally appropriate manner, with an emphasis on 21st Century Learning, differentiating instruction and using formative and summative assessments effectively.
 Engaging children in project work that is an in-depth investigation of a particular topic as part of an emergent curriculum.
 Creating an inclusive classroom environment through supportive exchanges with students and clear expectations for community behavior.
 Creating and supporting a positive classroom environment.
 Collaborating with other Judaic and Hebrew studies teachers, educators and specialist teachers to develop curriculum, plan trips and special projects and solve problems.
 Working and communicating effectively with parents in formal and informal conferences, written reports and newsletters.
 Supporting and following the School Policies and Procedures.
 Be a positive and contributing member of the professional community.

Requirements
Position Qualifications:
 B.A. degree required
 Proficiency in both Hebrew and English language.
 Prior experience as a lead classroom teacher in a Judaic and Hebrew environment is required. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
 Good sense of humor and a warm and engaging demeanor.
 A passion for educating children in Judaic studies is required.
